Banzai Cast Update
Clancy Brown stars in the TV movie Yesterday's Children. The TV movie, filmed this summer in Ireland, will premiere on CBS on Sunday, October 15 at 9 PM(MST). The movie was directed by Marcus Cole and starring with Clancy are Jane Seymour, Hume Cronyn, and Claire Bloom. The movie is based on the book by Jenny Cockell about a pregnant architect that is haunted by visions of a woman who lived in 1930s Ireland.

Peter Weller has just completed work on Vlad the Impaler The true story about the warlord that inspired the Dracula story. Jeff Goldblum will soon be seen in Auggie Rose. It's a tale about an insurance salesman who assumes the identity of the dead man. He then embarks on a double life, keeping it secret from his live-in girlfriend. And what of Ellen Barkin? She's still married to billionaire Ron Pearlman and busy lining-up lots of movie projects including In the Boom Boom Room with former Starcon guest Jon Lovitz.

Voyager Visibly Vivisected
You probably didn't know this - that's why I'm telling you - but Star Trek: Voyager is getting cut. This season, UPN has been shortening the episodes you are watching. The image to the left was never shown. Remember how they'd chop the original Star Trek episodes so that they could throw in a couple more commercials? Well, now UPN is doing it too. It's done by removing entire scenes and digitally shrinking some scenes. Potentially even worse, they've also used the technique to pad scenes. Click here to view a missing scene from the episode Juggernaut. For more info on this insidious effort to rob us of quality Star Trek time, visit Mr. Video's website for additional clips and information.

Thanks to Tom for the heads-up on this great interview with Tim Russ at Gunlace.com. At the outset of the program, Tim talks about his recent experience with Howard Stern's Battle of the Bands. His discussion about the "legacy" of Star Trek actor recordings is right-on. The balance of the interview discusses his thoughts on Star Trek: Voyager, the conventions and his fellow actors.

Suspended Animation
Michael Vance says that Blood and Sunder is, "pure and simple, a paper Creature Feature." He praises it for originality and raw style that sets it apart from any other comic. Also this week, Mike reviews Marked by the Beast which deals with profanity, sex, violence and drugs - subjects that, while protected by free speech, don't often make for good speech. Although Mike doesn't like the comic's subject matter, he steps aside from his bias and adds, "the comic deserves to be read."

Sandra Bullock & Shatner ...sort of
Maybe not as a couple, but they are both in Sandra's next movie - Miss Congeniality. Sandra stars as an FBI agent who must go under-cover at a beauty pageant. The movie has a real heavy-hitting cast! Benjamin Bratt doing the hunk-partner honors and Michael Caine plays an obsessive and pompous pageant consultant who is in charge of turning Bullock's tomboy character into a glamorous beauty queen for the assignment. I'm going out on a limb here to predict that Shatner plays the Burt Parks role and belts out one of his signature tunes as Bullock is crowned in the movie's climax.

Richard LeParmentier
As Admiral Motti, Richard played the Imperial Officer who believed more in the power of his Death Star than the power of The Force. Was his skepticism rewarded? No, Darth Vader raised his finger and he promptly lost his ability to breathe. That particular moment in Star Wars gave audiences their first inkling of the awesome power of The Dark Side. With the passing of Peter Cushing and Don Henderson, Richard is the last surviving Imperial Officer from the original Star Wars movie. He has appeared in over fifty films and television shows in Britain and the United States. His science fiction credentials include Rollerball and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
