Lexa Doig, Not Her Avatar Coming To Starfest

It is a bit confusing, trying to explain the characters that Lexa Doig portrays on Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. One is Rommie, the physical manifestation of the computer that controls, er is, named Andromeda Ascendant, a ship that flies about the galaxy fighting evil. Her other character is the actual hologram projection of the ship's sophisticated artificial intelligence system. Basically, one does most of the work of flying the ship and the other gets to run around kicking bad-boy butt. Click here to read more...

Sequential Animation Reviews and Interviews
by Michael Vance and Mark Allen

Broad Appeal

"Womens is frickle," says Popeye, and he is right. But the one-eyed sailor doesn't generalize enough.  Women are also intelligent, kind, loving, loyal, industrious, nurturing, and social--very, very social. -Michael Vance

The 8th Wonder

The 8th Wonder was collected in 1997.  To date, it is one of the most unusual stories I've ever read.  Unusual is good, in a medium that continues to need fresh material to balance out a steady...and stale...diet of super heroes. - Mark Allen

Isaac The Pirate: To Exotic Lands

"...filled with adult themes, characterization, believable dialog, several complicated and intertwined plots, and a central theme not concerned with an epic battle between good and evil." - Michael Vance

Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD

"This book collects some of Steranko's first comic work, and demonstrates his amazing adaptability as an artist, taking the pencil roughs of the legendary Jack Kirby, and giving them an added flare" - Mark Allen

Dominic Keating
Enterprise's Chief of Security locked-down for Starfest
Portraying Malcolm Reed on Enterprise seems a stretch for a guy with a history degree. Here’s how it happens: Start acting in college and appear in several stage performances. With a little encouragement you’ll get bitten by the acting bug. Pack your truck for Beverly, hills that is, and land film roles in Jungle 2 Jungle, Almost Famous, and What I Did for Love. Then play a guy named Steve in The Hollywood Sign opposite Rod Steiger, Burt Reynolds and Tom Berenger. That might be simplifying a bit, but that’s basically what Dominic did on his way to his role on the latest Star Trek series.

His TV credits include Enterprise, Glory Days, Desmond’s, The Immortals, G vs E, Special Unit 2, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Poltergeist: The Legacy.

We will continue to announce guests and incredible programming in the days ahead. For more Starfest 2004 details, click here.

Lani Tupu at Starfest 2004
Farscape actor Starbursts to Denver in April

It isn’t common that an actor has two roles on one TV show, but that’s exactly the job that Lani Tupu filled on the prestigious Saturn Award-winning TV series Farscape. His face is instantly recognizable as that of the cranky and unpredictable Captain Crais, who vowed vengeance on the crew of the show’s leviathan ship, Moya. Ironically, he also provided the calm and ever-caring voice of Moya’s pilot (Pilot).

In the next few days we'll be making additional guest announcements. Invitations are out to actors from Enterprise, Stargate, Andromeda, Buckaroo Banzai, and Star Wars... so far. Starfest 2004 is going to be really exciting. Click here for more info.
