TIME TO GET SCARED!

We have a special deal we'd like to tell you about. If you come and visit one of the following adult haunted houses this coming week, Sunday through Thursday, October 2nd through October 6th, we'll give you $5.00 off your admission when you print this page and bring it with you. This offer is good for everyone in your group - so you only need one copy.

We'll have more deals and offers coming soon, so make sure you tell your friends to visit Scared.com and get registered for these offers.

CRYPT OF THE REAPER & CHUCKLE'S DUNGEON
We have spent the last year working on the haunt at Buckingham Square Mall. The last two years were incredible with our 25th Hour theme and we were really appreciative of the great reviews you gave us, but we felt our annual customers deserved some new thrills so we completely changed the flow of the show and re-imagined the haunt presentation for the 2005 season.

Our new theme is The Crypt of the Reaper. The concept is that you are visiting THE crypt where The Reaper (you know the guy who collects souls) keeps some of them for his own reasons. You are challenged (shortly after your soul is taken) to try and get through a set of tasks. If you survive all the tasks - you have a chance to redeem your soul.

Of course, this whole story is all just an excuse to scare the *&$% out of you - and we think we've added a few great new scares this year that will do just that. For those of you that are into trivia, try to find the Big Trouble in Little China and Beetlejuice references in the haunt .

We really hope you like the hard work that has gone into the new scares and effects we've created this year.

CARNEVIL & FREAK SHOW

Located at Southwest Plaza also has some new great scares. We enhanced the effects from last year and then, just to spice things up a bit, added some even scarier ones throughout the entire Haunt.  Board an intimate train car (groups of 10 or less) on an adventure you will never forget!  Years ago, there was a terrible accident at this remote carnival (only reachable by train). Guests were trapped at the site and many of the patrons, overcome by fear, went insane and began to prey on the other visitors. The clowns have now taken over the show. After you step off the train you'll have to stay one step ahead of deadly marionettes, freaks of nature and clowns of doom. Just when you think you may be safe, you find yourself in the Freak Show 3-D Maze - terrible hallways of 3-D enhanced scenes populated by, you guessed it, CLOWNS bent on keeping you from the exit. Everyone loves a clown...just not these clowns! So what are you waiting for?  Come and experience the “Greatest Scares on Earth”!!

13TH DOOR HAUNTED HOUSE
Our newest and most convenient location is back with even more spine tingling excitement. Your journey begins as you relive the historic events that led to the Barrington Hotel Massacre. Back in 1912 when the Hotel was first built, owner John A Barrington threw a costume party in the penthouse for all the movers and shakers in Denver society.   His Nephew, Andrew Barrington, came to the party uninvited and wanted money from his Uncle to pay off a gambling debt.  His Uncle refused him and this sent Andrew into a homicidal rage.  He blocked all the exits from the Penthouse and then began massacring the guests.  He cut off their hands to take their jewelry and then set fire to the hotel.   Andrew Barrington was never captured.  The two waiters who survived did so because they were able to find the 13th Door.  Will you be as lucky or will Andrew Barrington’s ghost find you first!!

BOOVILLE is a Haunt just for kids ages 9 and under.  Sponsored by Radio Disney, BOOVILLE is a complete SCARE FREE Zone for young ones.  Located at Southglenn Mall, BOOVILLE offers a huge room with a Bounce House, Bounce Speed Way, Non-scary Haunted House, Arts and Crafts area, 3D Room and much more.  Nothing but fun and games!!  Come and stay for as long as you want.  Remember as always, Parents are FREE!!

Ray Bradbury and James Cameron to Receive Space Exploration Awards
The Planetary Society's 25th Anniversary Dinner - November 12, 2005.

In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, The Planetary Society will honor science fiction author Ray Bradbury and film director James Cameron with two special awards: The Thomas O. Paine Award for the Advancement of Human Exploration of Mars to Bradbury and The Planetary Society's inaugural Cosmos Award for Outstanding Public Presentation of Science to Cameron.

Both awards will be presented at The Planetary Society's 25th Anniversary Gala Awards Dinner: Our Next Age of Exploration on November 12, 2005. For more information, visit http://planetary.org/2005awardsdinner.

As The Planetary Society looks back on our past 25 years and forward to the exciting decades of exploration to come, these two recipients embody the dreams of space travel that propel us forward and show us what we can accomplish in the future.

"Bradbury and Cameron ideally represent the spirits of these awards," said Neil deGrasse Tyson, Planetary Society Board Chairman.  "Both of these storytellers have supplied powerful testimony to the rationale for human space exploration beyond the Moon - a subject now revived in public and political discourse."

Engaging the public in the romance of space exploration is an integral part of The Planetary Society's mission. Sagan's landmark television series, Cosmos - written with Ann Druyan, who is chairing the dinner - also celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.  Cosmos fueled the imagination of millions of viewers around the world.  To honor the innovators who follow in this tradition of presenting science and scientists in an accurate, yet entertaining and enthralling way, the Society is bestowing the first Cosmos Award for Outstanding Public Presentation of Science to James Cameron.

Cameron's recent IMAX films Ghosts of the Abyss and Aliens of the Deep have allowed audiences to join true-life adventures with real explorers as exciting as any fictional plot that Hollywood could devise.  Titanic-director Cameron is a firm supporter of planetary exploration, a member of the NASA Advisory Council, and is planning future film projects to introduce audiences to the wonders that await us on Mars.

By inspiring generations of men and women who will one day build the spacecraft to take humans to Mars, Bradbury has been named the latest recipient of The Thomas O. Paine Memorial Award for the Advancement of Human Exploration of Mars.  Bradbury has been whisking readers to Mars and other distant reaches of the universe for over half a century.  Many of the scientists and engineers now engaged in planetary exploration were first introduced to alien worlds in Bradbury's short stories and novels, including his famous Martian Chronicles.

Tom Paine served on The Planetary Society's Board of Directors for many years and was NASA Administrator at the time of the Apollo 11 moon landing.  Paine was a long time advocate of sending humans to explore Mars, and the Society established an award in his honor in the early 1990s, presenting the first Thomas O. Paine Memorial Award to planetary scientist Christopher McKay and then-NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin in 1994.  Other past winners include Planetary Society co-founder Carl Sagan, the Apollo-Soyuz astronauts, and the Mars Pathfinder and Mars Global Surveyor teams.

Both awards will be presented on November 12 at The Planetary Society's 25th Anniversary Awards Gala Dinner at the world-famous Santa Anita Park, the proceeds of which will help fund Society projects to advance the exploration of the solar system and the search for extraterrestrial life.

Cry_Wolf Screening - Instant Win Quiz
Screening Thursday, Sept. 15th @ 7pm @ The Continental (I-25 & Hampden)
In the new teen thriller Cry_Wolf, eight unsuspecting high school seniors playing a game of lies come face-to-face with terror and learn that nobody believes a liar - even when they¹re telling the truth.

After one too many incidents of bad behavior at his last school, Owen Matthews (Julian Morris) arrives at Westlake Prep where a young woman has recently been found murdered in the dark woods near the boarding school's campus. Owen quickly falls in with the school's unofficial club, including the beautiful and savvy Dodger (Lindy Booth of Dawn of the Dead and Wrong Turn) and quick-talking, short-tempered Tom (Jared Padalecki of the new television series Supernatural). At Owen's suggestion, his new friends decide to expand their game's reach beyond campus, by spreading an online rumor that a serial killer called "The Wolf" committed the recent murder and is planning to strike again.

The mischievous group's descriptions of "The Wolf's" intended victims are based on the people they know best - each other. Only when the school's journalism teacher, Rich Walker (Jon Bon Jovi), warns the group about the kinds of predators that lurk on the internet does Owen begin to regret sending their falsified story into cyberspace. When the described "victims" suddenly start to disappear, Owen, Dodger, and Tom are no longer able to determine where the lies end and the truth begins. As someone - or something - starts hunting the players themselves, the game turns terrifyingly real.

This film is rated PG-13.
