Sequential Animation Reviews, News and Interviews
No comic escapes the discerning gaze of Michael Vance and Mark Allen

Mark gushes about Batman: Dark Knight Dynasty - ...contains enough contrast to please any fan of comics or great art. He raves about Gunpowder Girl and The Outlaw Squaw - Hudson has done comics fans a service by developing characters that are more three-dimensional than paper cutouts.

Michael notes that in He Done Her Wrong - Originality is not its purpose. Its purpose is K-RAZY!! and then comments about Mouse Guard: Belly of the Beast - Beautiful, reality-based art ends at the tip of the swords carried by the mice, at the clothing worn, and at the tips of tongues that speak. Then he delivers sparking commentary on Electric Girl #3 Well-written and drawn, young girls in particular will enjoy the entertaining adventures of Virginia, a teenage girl with electric powers

This entertaining classroom session will be a total hands on training session complete with facial muscular/anatomy lesson to teach attendees how to create their signature eye-catching characters.

Wolfe Brothers Face Art & FX www.wolfefx.com has revolutionized the Haunted Attraction industry by combining traditional makeup and fast-paced face painting with artistic rendering techniques to create the look of 3 dimensional and prosthetic FX with brushed on makeup alone. The Wolfe Brothers line of highly-pigmented Hydrocolor professional water-based makeup provides the best coverage and brightest black light colors in the business.

Nick and Brian Wolfe started doing make-up full time at Universal Studios Florida for Halloween Horror Nights in 1998, and have since worked at the Haunted Fairgrounds, Skull Kingdom, The Haunted Mansion, and all the major theme parks in Orlando. The class starts with an introduction to human anatomy, during which the class will learn the bone and muscle structures and how these can be painted onto the face to appear real. Students are taught how to achieve different effects and learn techniques of applying the make-up by doing.

Learn the art of horror face painting from master artists Nick and Brian Wolfe with step by step instructional training using the twins own Tips, Tricks and Techniques. The class is designed to benefit both the novice and the experienced makeup artist. The Wolfe Brothers will share with you their unique philosophy, inspiration and practical application of make-up and special effects. X-Men: The Last Stand Quiz & Contest
Wednesday, May 24th @ 7:00pm Colorado Center Theater (I-25 & Colorado Blvd)
In X-Men: The Last Stand, the climax in the X-Men motion picture trilogy, a cure for mutancy threatens to alter the course of history. For the first time, mutants have a choice: retain their uniqueness, though it isolates and alienates them, or give up their powers and become human. The opposing viewpoints of mutant leaders Charles Xavier, who preaches tolerance, and Magneto, who believes in the survival of the fittest, are put to the ultimate test – triggering the war to end all wars.

Within the framework of an epic, action-packed story, X-Men: The Last Stand raises issues with strong contemporary relevance: Is conformity an antidote to prejudice? Is it cowardice to give up individuality to fit in and avoid persecution? Do ends justify means? Is great power a blessing or a curse?

This movie is rated PG-13.

No comic escapes the discerning gaze of Michael Vance and Mark Allen

Michael reviews Graphic Classics: Rafael Sabatini - "Sabatini wrote high adventure, supernatural, and other genres tales in novels, short stories, and poetry. They are deserving of praise." In this bonus issue, Michael also reviews Superman Family #173 - "...Superman Family almost seems silly compared to today's character driven, hard-edged, and even grim titles. [But] Reading an issue for the first time in thirty years was refreshing."

Mark first scopes The Portent #1 - "...could be something great in the making." and then turns his attention to the effort to Save Spider-Girl "...an effort to save a worthwhile publication which could bring in new, younger readers."
