Will and Elizabeth's
wedding day is sadly
interrupted by a Lord
from England. Using the
threat of death, he
blackmails Will into
searching for Captain
Jack and a certain item
in his possession. With
only a moment to say
goodbye to his
betrothed, Will is
quickly off in search of
the pirate to save his
bride-to-be Elizabeth
from the gallows.
In return for Jack's
cooperation, Will is
tricked into sailing
aboard the legendary
Flying Dutchman. On the
haunted ship, Will comes
face-to-face with its
gruesome captain, the
legendary Davy Jones. In
apparent foreshadowing,
The half man / half
squid appears curiously
interested in obtaining
Will's soul and having
him stay on the Dutchman
forever.
The movie's incredible
effects and storyline
play respectful homage
to the Disney ride upon
which the film series is
based. The bayou scenes
in this chapter of the
saga masterfully set the
stage for the adventures
ahead in the 3rd movie
currently in production.
For fans of
swashbuckling adventure
and high-seas comedy,
this is the summer
cruise for which you've got to
book passage!
Suspended Animation Comic Book Reviews by Michael Vance and Mark AllenSuspended Animation
June 27
Sequential
Animation Reviews, News and Interviews No comic escapes the discerning gaze of
Michael Vance and Mark Allen
Commenting about The Art of John
Romita, Mark Allen says, John Romita is one of the most influential
artists whose work ever graced a comics page. Taking over The Amazing Spider-Man
from the character's co-creator and original artist, Steve Ditko in 1966, Romita
quickly infused the title with his own charming, "clean-cut" style.
Admitting his passion for biblical comics in his remarks on David's Mighty Men,
Mark comments, Saltares takes plenty of creative license in fleshing out
three characters about which the Bible shares very little, and he proves his
considerable talent in doing so.
Michael Vance
weighs in on Robotica #1
with, Ray guns and swords. Beautiful women and ugly things. Cool. He
continues his review with some reservations. Michael then makes some comments
about an anthology made by students titled Canon. He notes,
...there is exceptional talent in the issue; it is from its publisher, writer
and artist Dove Hargue. Mike finally takes a short swipe at Noble Boy, ...takes
60 seconds to read for $12.95, that offers bad poetry, no story, and excellent,
animation inspired art."

Twelve and
Holding explores the
complexities of children
losing their innocence
and adults struggling to
guide them.
In the suburbs of
America, three close
knit 12-year-olds –
introverted Jacob,
precocious Malee and
vulnerable Leonard --
start down the path of
self-discovery and begin
to distinguish their own
voices from those of
their parents. Sparked
by the tragic death of
Jacob’s twin brother,
the trio band together
as they grapple with
feelings of revenge, the
burden of grief and the
indelible experiences of
growing up.
Twelve and Holding enters the intricate – and often
humorous world where adolescence and adulthood collide, when parents
at times seem as lost as their own children. As each family’s
personal challenges are revealed, they learn to better understand
each other and their own realities.
