Anime
Japanese animation is one of the staples of Starfest and Starcon. We'll keep you
posted as details come in.
Art
Show
We want to encourage all you budding artists to enter the Starfest 2001 Artshow.
Past entrants have included James Cukr, whose work is pictured here. The Art
Show, Model show, and Demonstrations will all be held in the hotel section of
the Events center. No pre-registration for the Art show is necessary, your art
work can be entered at any time during the convention. Registration begins
Friday night at 6pm. The minimum entry fee is $5.00 for a 4ft x 2ft display
panel. Additional panels are $2.00 each. Table space for sculpture and 3-D
artwork is available with a $5.00 minimum entry fee. You must have a membership
to the convention to enter art in the Art Show. The convention receives 10% of
all sales. For more information not contained here, please contact Carl
Chopp, the Convention Art Show Director.
Carl has set-up the Starfest 2001 Art Show site at http://www.starlandartshow.com.
Autograph Sessions
The autograph sessions take place in the Activities Room. There are two lines
for each guest. One for Platinum Card People and another
for everyone else. Autograph times for each guest (that
we know) will be posted at their autograph table. Keep in mind, the convention
does not decide the autographing times for the guests - they do. The times are
subject to change or cancellation at their whim.
We encourage all the actors to sign autographs for at least an hour, however,
it is at their discretion. Some of the actors sell photos to raise money for
charity, but everyone that does sign will set-aside some time to sign your
personal items. In the event there are long lines for a particular celebrity, we
ask that you only have one item signed so as many people as possible are able to
get an autograph.
Bat'leth 101
Learn the basics of Klingon Bat'leth combat
as taught by the Galactic Warrior's Academy. The GWA will be featuring various
exhibitions of combat at their table in the Activities Room during the weekend.
Battletech Gaming

Battletech gaming both Satuday and Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm in the
Activities Room. They welcome all levels of players.
Book Drive & Sale
Support literacy and make room on your bookshelves from some new guilty
pleasures! Once again, the Starfest staff will be hosting a book sale in the
Activities Room. The last time we held a book drive we were able to donate
$1000.00 to the Delta County Public Library, a sorely under funded institution
serving the Western Slope of Colorado with many branches and adult literacy
programs. Your generous purchases and contributions put many new book on the
shelves! You can help at this convention by bringing your used paperback and
hardback books to the specially marked table in the Activities Room at any time
during the weekend. Even more important -- browse through our selection of
"previously-appreciated" and "well-loved" books and take
home some fabulous values while supporting this excellent cause. Please Note: 2
VERY SPECIAL signed 1st Edition hardbacks from George R.R. Martin and Raymond
Feist will be up for auction at the Book Sale table!

here) and the original British pilot to the ahead-of-its-time Max Headroom TV
