Fresh off great notices as Cuba Gooding Jr's mom in Snow Dogs, Nichelle is currently in the midst of a nation-wide book tour for her new novel - Saturna’s Quest. It's with great pleasure we are able to announce that Starfest 2002 will be one of the stops she makes on that tour! Saturna’s Quest is the sequel to her previous novel Saturn's Child. Ms. Nichols will be at the convention throughout the weekend and will be available for autographs Friday through Sunday and appear onstage on Sunday. Known to millions as Lt. Uhura on Star Trek, Nichelle actually started her career as a singer and dancer with Duke Ellington. She founded an educational production company, Women in Motion, and spearheaded NASA's first minority and female astronaut recruitment drive. Her stage roles include Porgy and Bess and Anthony and Cleopatra. On TV (other than Star Trek) she appeared in The D.A., The Lieutenant, and Ironsides. She portrayed Lt. Uhura in the first six Star Trek movies. |
