Denise
CrosbyDenise had once thought that after she left Star Trek: The Next Generation, she would be able to move on with her life. She hoped she would be able to look back on her experience as a fond memory. A distant past that could perhaps be visited nostalgically from time to time. Well, Karma had other plans for her. Rather than a fond memory of an earlier time, Star Trek has become more like a boomerang in her life. Every time she lets it go, it comes whizzing back at her - demanding that she catch a hold of it or get hit in the head. Before Denise donned her golden jumpsuit on the Next Generation, she
already had quite a career going. She started on the soap Days of Our
Lives, appeared in the movie 48 Hours, and worked on a couple of
Pink Panther movies (directed by her then father-in-law Blake Edwards). In The Next Generation she played the in-the-thick-of-it Lieutenant Natasha 'Tasha' Yar, but decided to leave the show after she felt that her character wasn't getting enough action. Luckily for us, she was drafted back into service a couple of seasons later to portray Tasha's daughter, the Romulan Commander Sela — a role she would then later reprise in the Star Trek Armada video game. Since her Trek days, Crosby has appeared in numerous Movie and TV films including: Crossing Jordon, The Agency, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Deep Impact, Pet Cemetery, Pumpkin Man, The X-Files, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., The Drew Carey Show, and Jackie Brown - just to name a few. Her most recent Star Trek related projects have been the Trekkies and Trekkies II documentaries - on which she appears and executive produced. She'll be attending all three days of Starfest and host a Q & A session following the screening of one of her Trekkies films. Denise will be participating in the Autograph and Photo with the Stars program at Starfest and will appear onstage for her Q & A session either Saturday or Sunday. Check our Convention Schedule for the most up-to-date information on guest appearances and times. |
