This prop is really cool! It comes with a removable power cartridge, sliding top cover, removable phaser 1 unit, aluminum front nozzle and aluminum rear radiator fins. What a sweet piece! The original handle (you can tell) was cast from an actual gun. This phaser, unlike those used on the TV shows, feels like a weapon. It has a two-tone finish with black and gun-metal gray painted pieces. The bottom of the cartridge features a metal insignia piece that identifies the unit number and ship that the weapon belongs to. The removable phaser 1 unit has an acrylic center body and is actually smaller than the Phaser 1 used in TNG. All in all, this piece will really win you over, with details like a spring-ball-click locking mechanism for the cartridge.

The electronic edition incorporates some really cool features. When the power cartridge is slid out, an indicator on the top lights to confirm your remaining charge - it can also be manually switched off when removed from the phaser unit. When the trigger is depressed, a blue light emits from the aluminum front nozzle, a green (4 LED) indicator on the top of the phaser body lights and the digital phaser sound is activated. With the additional features incorporated into the working unit, this represents an excellent value for your money.
