Prop Replicas

Classic TV Series Phaser 1 & 2

Star Trek Phaser IIThis edition of the Classic Phaser is based on the model used in the Star Trek DS9 episode Trials and Tribble-ations. When researching the props for DS9, the show's craftsmen knew that there were many different variations in the original TV props and therefore incorporated the best features -- while remaining true to the original design. It is for that reason, that this prop is truly the best ever made.

The phaser has many metal parts throughout and features fine detail work uncommon in most of the prop replicas previously available. These finely crafted replicas will make a fine addition to any collection.

The working and non-working editions have slight feature differences, but are visually the same. The working model has additional metal detailing in the Phaser 1 - mostly to improve its function, and to allow the top dial to spin. The working Phaser 2 model also has a battery access hatch at the bottom of the grip handle - not needed in the non-working unit.

The Phaser 1 is removable in all versions, using a spring ball-lock mechanism to hold the Phaser 1 securely in place. Both the working and non-working units feature polished metal details throughout and include a spinning beam emitter nozzle and an adjustable dilithium crystal control knob. The (non-functional) release pin on the Phaser II body has a brass finish.

Additional features on the working unit include a bright-white LED activated with the metal trigger, a spinning power dial on the Phaser 1 and a functional spinning power dial on the Phaser 2. The working model has sound and light frequency control - just like the original prop. It also includes printed instructions for replacing the batteries.

Phaser 1 TopNote the quality of the acrylic indicator and spinning* adjuster dial. The perimeter and top grills, adjuster dial and rear receiver socket are metal on all models.  The working model also features a metal front nozzle piece for electrical contact. And the lock-in button on the bottom is also metal. These features are not metal on the non-working models.
Note the access screw on the bottom of the unit. There is, unfortunately going to be some paint chipping wear on the back bottom of the phaser, due to the pressure locking mechanizm. This wear (as seen in this picture) is a result of insertion into the phaser II unit. We have found that you can minimize this with a small piece of tape on the back to protect the paint, but that remedy is at your descretion.
All models also include a ring and jewel for for the top of the phaser 1 unit. This detail was not present on all units in the series, but is included with your prop - should you decide you want it. Here you can see the spinning Beam Emitter Nozzle, Dialithium Crystal Control Knob and Trigger.
This shot gives you a good view of the inset front acrylic sight above the Beam Emitter Nozzle.  Here you see the Phaser Setting Knob (note the number etching detail). Also the metal radiator grill back and brass finish release pin.
Here's a shot of the bottom of the working phaser. Sorry, I didn't clean the bottom too well, the white debris on the bottom is dust. The center screw is not functional, it is a detail from the original prop. Access is actually made via the two smaller screws on either side of the large one.
*The spinning adjuster does not move on the non-working models. It moves on the Working Phaser II model and adjusts the phaser sound and frequency of the front Phaser 1 LED on the Super Phaser II model.
